New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)

The New Zealand Qualifications Authority is a government agency with responsibilities for setting and reviewing education qualification standards.

A major role of the NZQA is to assure the quality of the education programmes offered by state institutions and private training establishments. NZQA is responsible for:

a. the registration of private training establishments offering courses of study for 3 months or longer

b.approval of courses and accreditation of colleges of education, polytechnics, institutes of technology and private providers to offer these.
